Mission Planner Job description:

Mission Planner is responsible for supporting Jet It Flight Operations by reviewing and evaluating the feasibility of proposed flights. Coordinating with internal departments such as Client Experience, Sales and Finance, to ensure flights are planned within the performance capabilities of the aircraft, airports, and operating environment domestic and International. Completing review of proposed flight(s) submitted by Jet It Sales and Client Experience departments and retuning solutions within 12 hours of receipt of such proposal. Coordinating domestic and international customs, filing and updating eAPIS, securing overflight permits, landing rights, aircraft fueling availability and supporting flight crews. Mission planner is responsible to the Flight Operations Manager.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mission planning as stated above.
  • Review Notice to Airman (NOTAM) against schedule flights. Bringing to light any NOTAMs which could disrupt flight operations.
  • Review Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFR)s against scheduled flights.
  • Conduct proposed trip performance analysis.
  • Monitor severe weather impact to flight schedule and take action to reduce schedule disruption.
  • Flight planning and filing of flight plans for international flights.
  • Develop job aids and checklist to maintain consistency in mission planning execution.
  • Provide an alternative(s) solution for trip completions, including load distribution, selecting fuel stops and alternative airports.
  • Evaluate the cost of fuel when selecting fuel stop(s).
  • Communicate any operational impacts to other impacted departments.
