Position Title: Fleet Manager

Location: ELGIN , Repair Center

Reports To: Fleet and Facilities Director

Status: Full-time

Position Purpose:

Position adheres to TPS’s mission statement, the Fleet Manger’s responsibility is for the management and administrative work related to the operation of equipment, repair and preventative maintenance of all vehicles.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develops schedules and procedures for and ensures adherence to routine maintenance and non-routine repair of all vehicles in the company’s fleet.
• Collaborates with supervisors and staff to manage and reduce expenses such as those for fuel and labor costs.
• Establishes a schedule for recommended replacement of fleet vehicles.
• Drafts and presents reports on department operations and expenses.
• Prepares and implements departmental budget.
• Develops and enforces procedures, policies, and safety protocols for all fleet services staff.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Education, Requirements and/or Professional Experience:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Acetylene and electric arc welding
• CDL B with Air Brake Endorsement

Skills/Qualifications:

• Diagnose mechanical problems
• Mechanical design and fabrication
• Knowledge of International, GMC, Mack, Cat, Case and Gehl
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of fleet management and operations.
• Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
• Ability to prepare and adhere to a budget and to monitor and reduce expenses.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Basic and advance maintenance functions such as PM’s, Diagnostic, Troubleshooting, Brakes, Hydraulic repair and Electrical.
• On-Call daily availability from October 15th to April 15th
• Must have a cell phone that can download timekeeping application

Physical Requirements:

• Required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift, grasp, carry, push and pull
• Must be able to lift and/or move 60 pounds plus
• Must be able to access and navigate fleet parking lot and maintenance facilities.
