Pitt's Business, Hospitality & Auxiliary Services Division is seeking a qualified candidate for the open Fitness Center Coordinator position within the University Club.Conveniently located in the center of campus, The University Club Fitness Center provides every amenity to help our Members reach their goals. We strive to help Members restore the mind and find a healthier approach to fitness and wellbeing – achieving their desired lifestyle goals, the right way. Get In, Get Fit, Commit!Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, assisting in the management of day to day operations of the Fitness Center, oversight of other staff members/graduate student assistants/student workers, direct fitness training and facilitation of group fitness classes, plus Member relations/retention activities and marketing to prospective new Members.

This full time position requires in-person availability Monday-Friday. The incumbent will work under the direction of the Fitness Center Manager. The candidate should have 1+ years of fitness management experience and a Bachelor's degree or higher is preferred.


  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 1 year of experience in fitness or a related field is required.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Requires the ability to interact professionally with faculty and staff at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with an exceptional eye for details.
  • Must function as a team player and be willing to teach/train other team members.
  • Must be capable of managing multiple Members, classes, and projects simultaneously.
  • Candidate must be self-motivated and able to work and obtain results with limited day-to-day supervision.
  • Substitutions per University guidelines will be permitted.
