Hewes Marine Company is looking for a motivated individual to lead production activities in our finish department. This individual will directly oversee a crew of finish installers and assist in normal production activities as needed. This individual will also coordinate with Production Supervisors on several initiatives including scheduling, the creation, adaptation, and adherence to standard operating procedures.

This position reports directly to the Production Supervisors.

Position Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Interface professionally and effectively with other department leads and supervisors
  • Maintain a positive, fast paced, and production minded environment
  • Must be self-motivated and be proactive in identifying and resolving issues
  • Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner and provide appropriate feedback to Supervisors
  • Proactively learn new skills and train team members on accessory items, electrical, water, and fuel systems and following the manufacturing flow and schedule
  • Coordinate with our Engineering Team regarding manufacturing issues, documentation changes, and troubleshooting
  • Read and understand engineering drawings, schematics, and other documentation
  • High regard for safety
  • Attention to detail and quality of work

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience desired: General carpentry, hand tools, DC and AC electrical installations, hose routing, chop/band saw cutting, and router cutting
  • Special consideration for commercial sewing experience including seats and canvas boat tops
  • Computer experience related to manufacturing systems and Microsoft Word and Excel desired
  • 2 years – manufacturing experience
  • Minimum 1-year of leadership experience desired

Compensation:

  • This position is a full-time, hourly position within Hewes Marine Company
  • Work schedule Monday – Friday
  • Overtime and weekends on an as needed basis
  • Wage DOE
  • Excellent Benefits package including medical, dental, vision, accrued paid leave, and 401(k)
