PURPOSE:

To provide agency-wide expense management, accounting and financial project management, new venture analysis and pricing support within the finance department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate new business opportunities and provide required financial analysis in support of the decision-making process.
  • Develop, maintain and utilize program pricing and business valuation model for the agency.
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages and provide related variance analysis in support of the month end close as well as reporting to leadership and board of directors.
  • Prepare monthly financial narratives to support reporting package for income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, capital spend, financial banking covenants and financial metrics
  • Prepare monthly analysis reports to support financial reporting including but not limited to census, designated contribution analysis, vocational billings.
  • Utilizing the Program Awards Billing System information, create monthly Budget to Actual Revenue variance reports; distribute to Program Directors and meet with them to discuss variances and forecast impact.
  • Track and manage agency-wide operating and capital expenditures. Oversee spending controls and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures. Ensure all purchases are within budget and processes are efficient.
  • Continuously review processes and lead the development/implementation of process improvements where needed.
  • Develop, facilitate and lead the budgeting and forecasting process for the entire agency.
  • Create Budget Tools, Templates and Files for the entire Agency, at a Department / Program level, driven by project codes.
  • Work with and train Executive and Leadership Team and all users of the Budget Templates, to ensure all Department and Program Budgets are submitted both accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure Budget Files roll up into a detail format that can be downloaded into our Financial Reporting System, Financial Edge.
  • Ensure budgets are entered into Financial Edge. .
  • Track performance against budget and forecast goals.
  • Ensure all State Registrations are filed in a timely & accurate manner.
  • Prepare and input monthly journal entries as needed.
  • Maintain CFR allocation files and create quarterly CFR allocation journal entries into Fund 11.
  • Working with Veritus Consulting, continue to create and define financial information for Development Team utilization.
  • Create Bank Loan Compliance Reporting Covenants monthly, issuing to Banks on a Quarterly Basis.
  • Support RFQ/RFP process for major purchases for the agency.
  • Support the year-end audit, as well as all other audits/reviews by preparing various audit schedules and confirmations as needed.
  • Assist in the issuing and monitoring of use of agency credit cards, stored value cards and purchase card (p-card) programs.
  • Provide back-up for Accounts Payable and the Assistant Controller positions.
  • Maintains annual American Heart Association certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Successfully completes Little City Foundation required training, re-training, and any additional training as required by Little City Foundation policies and practices, or as assigned by his or her immediate supervisor.

MBA, with a concentration in Finance, preferred. A Bachelor’s degree is required with at least 6 years of experience completing complex financial analysis, modeling, forecasting and problem solving. Exceptional project management experience is preferred. Must be highly organized, have superior financial analysis and computer skills including the use of Excel, ERP systems and/or relational databases. Must have solid financial reporting and effective communication skills to include verbal and written forms of communication. Must be self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to sitting for prolonged periods; frequently walks, stands, grasps, lifts, holds, or feels objects; occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Extended use of computer and typing is required. The employee frequently is required to use manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination when working and handling office equipment. The employee is subject to assist and support up to 25 pounds with varying amounts of assistance on a reoccurring basis. The employee is required to have corrected vision and hearing within normal range and the ability to operate office equipment. No occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases or other potentially infectious substances (Category I). Typical office environment.
