Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the supervision and direction of the Controller, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for performing routine accounting functions that directly impact the organization’s financial performance. Certain of these tasks are the sole responsibility of the Senior Financial Analyst, while others provide assistance to the Controller and other members of the Accounting Team in the accomplishment of overall departmental and hospital goals.

What you will do in this role:

• Responsible for the generation of routine, monthly financial reports, as well as those requested on an ad hoc basis. Reports are extracted from a multitude of source systems.
• Assists departments in the financial analysis of their service lines.

• Monitors status and accuracy of monthly statistical reporting processes, identifies and resolves statistical discrepancies.• Prepares journal entries that form the basis of the monthly financial closing process.

• Performs monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts to ensure the integrity of financial statement reporting.
• Prepares work papers to facilitate Internal Audit staff in their review of internal control procedures and the integrity of the financial statements. Researches and resolves a variety of questions posed by the Auditors.
• Ensures that problems or concerns regarding the Accounting department, as well as financial issues within other hospital departments, are immediately communicated to the Controller
• Prepares workpapers to assist Reimbursement staff in filing annual Medicare/ Medicaid Cost Reports.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Controller or Chief Financial Officer.
• Performs accurately and in a timely manner in periods of increased work-loads and high stress.

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of two years of healthcare accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in mainframe and PC-based reporting systems preferred.
