Job description
The Financial Aid Specialist, Information Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing efficient technological advancement for the financial aid department as well as federal and private loan processing. Job duties include, but not limited to; processing student loans, providing information and services to prospective, current, and former students, developing queries, and aiding in improving business practice efficiencies within the department and the student affairs division.

This position will also collaborate efforts between the financial aid, records, faculty, strategic planning and accountability, and office of information technology.

The position may be eligible for partial telework per the Minneapolis College’s Telework Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience working with federal financial aid programming and/or in a Financial Aid department
  • Knowledge of federal financial aid regulations and websites such as COD, NSLDS, CPS sufficient to review data, query reports and submit reports.
  • Ability to create, search, and query data tables using Microsoft Access
  • Ability to manage projects including, design, and configuration in order to improve business practices.
  • Demonstrate communication skills (written and oral) sufficient to interview students and accurately assess their financial needs train staff and present to groups.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines.
  • Ability to read and understand federal and state regulations sufficient to update and/or revise processes.
  • Ability to organize and maintain records, materials, and files sufficient to evaluate their effectiveness and recommend and install new methods and procedures for improvement.
  • Demonstrates an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency. Incorporates culturally responsive practices, and actively engages in antiracism professional development learning opportunities

Salary Range: $22.94 – $33.30 hourly / $47,899 – $69,530 annual
