Field Service Specialist Imaging
Job description
This position provides specialized repair (Radiology, CT, nuclear medicine, fluoroscopy, mammography etc.) and maintenance services to advanced diagnostic imaging equipment and biomedical equipment.
Essential Job Functions
- In addition to servicing basic imaging equipment, performs repair and maintenance on advanced imaging equipment, such as basic CT, CT Sim, basic oncology, vascular/specials systems, Fluoroscopy, Mammography, and Nuclear Medicine.
- Provides equipment repair and preventative maintenance throughout responsible area.
- Completes all necessary record keeping for work orders received and/or finished.
- Reviews and creates procedures and policies relating to the preventative maintenance program.
- Assists in the ordering of parts and supplies necessary for the most cost-effective maintenance of medical equipment.
- Provides on-call coverage on a rotating basis and provides support to techs for assigned equipment during On-Call.
- Provides input to the Biomed Director regarding new service opportunities within a location serviced by the Clinical Engineering Division.
- Provides cross training, technical support, project management, and emergency management in the shop and clinical environment.
- May also provide repair and maintenance of general biomedical equipment as secondary responsibility or as assigned.
- Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic’s mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance.
- Supports regional branches and affiliates as needed.

Knowledge of / Skills / Abilities / Complexities and Difficulties
- HIPAA and Confidentiality requirements.
- Regulations and standards set forth by the FDA, ACR, NRC or other recognized body as they relate to Diagnostic Imaging.
- General knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy and physiology.
- Fundamentals of Electronics and Electricity.
- Knowledge of Biomedical Equipment Technology and Advanced Imaging Technology.
- Computer systems, hardware, software, and networking as they relate to the operation of medical equipment and the support of the Equipment Management Program.
- Infection control and related safety practices.
- Hazardous chemicals and related safety practices.
- Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve equipment problems and/or failures.
- Training skills to educate equipment operators on proper equipment utilization and operation.

- Testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining Biomedical Equipment and Advanced Imaging Equipment.
- Responsible for monitoring the safety, calibration, maintenance and repair of imaging equipment which requires a high degree of technical expertise, proficiency and accuracy.
- Performance of these duties directly impact the quality of patient care provided.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $41.00 per hour
