We’re looking for a field inspector to join our team. In this position, you’ll primarily perform work related to water metering, but at times you’ll need to learn and apply the same techniques to electric and gas metering. You’ll work within the Technical Services group and collaborate with E Source Technology Planning and Implementation Consulting staff.

What you’ll do
Perform quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) activities associated with meter installations at utilities across the US but especially focused on West Coast projects- Compare meter installation inspection requirements specific to utility locations to actual installed meter installation to ensure installations meet utility standards
- Perform site surveys of meter installations at utilities
- Coordinate QA/QC and site survey activities with utility clients and installation and survey vendors
- Oversee installation and survey vendor work products and identify corrective actions to be taken
- Use computer equipment to enter survey and inspection results, and report issues identified during surveys or inspections
- Interpret deployment plans associated with the installation of new meters, AMI endpoints, meter registers, connectors, lids, meter boxes, etc.
- Assist in discovering or assessing current utility meter location conditions and potential installation issues
- Assist in identifying meter configuration specifications for new metering equipment
- Assist in identifying qualifications for selection of meter installation vendors
What will make you a good fit
Experience in a utility meter shop- Experience with water meter technology
- Experience with a variety of plumbing configurations, backflow, pressure-reducing valves, and valve arrangements associated with water metering
- Experience using field work order management tools, computers, and Microsoft Excel
- Willingness to learn electric and gas meter technology, AMI system configurations, and AMI software systems
- Our ideal candidate will live in or be able to drive to Roseville, CA
- Willingness to travel 75% of the time, possibly more at times
- West Coast area – California, Oregon, Nevada, and Arizona
Required skills
Ability to walk, stand, and or bend for long periods of time when doing field service work- Ability to learn and operate various software, including MS Outlook email, MS Teams, File Manager, and SharePoint
- Ability to learn and operate a field work order management tool
- Ability to read and interpret instructions
Ideal candidate skills
Client communication skills- Working knowledge of MS Excel
- Ability to balance multiple projects to support project managers and client work
- Understanding of utility AMI
- Self-starter

The budgeted salary for this position is $55,500 to $66,000 (includes base + annual bonus). Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
When not on-site at a client location, this person can work remote, a hybrid schedule, or from one of our physical office locations.
