Family & Community Services, Inc., a large non-profit organization in Northeast Ohio, sponsors Full Year VISTA members and Summer Associates to address needs in impoverished areas at multiple sites in NE Ohio, including community centers, schools, and nonprofit organizations. To apply for VISTA Leader, applicants must have completed one full year of service in any AmeriCorps program (VISTA, NCCC, State &National) or Peace Corps. The FCS VISTA Program office is located in Youngstown, but the VISTA Leader may be eligible to teleserve up to fulltime. The VISTA Leader will support 15-25 Full Year VISTA members and 15-20 Summer Associates (from June through August 2023) serving in Columbiana, Mahoning, Portage, Stark, Summit, Trumbull and Wayne counties. The VISTA Leader must exhibit a passion for national service and for equitably supporting a diverse cohort of VISTA members. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, self-directed, and an excellent communicator in both one-to-one and collaborative situations for F2F and virtual environments. They will need to establish clear written, verbal, communication and coordination among the VISTAs and the supervisors at the host sites where they serve. The ideal candidate has experience with Zoom, Microsoft Office, Adobe, Canva, Google Suite and social media platforms. VISTA Leader @FCS will play an integral role in the support and professional development of the VISTA members, as well as supporting the AmeriCorps and FCS shared mission to build capacity for organizations that strengthen, empower and enrich the lives of individuals, families, and communities. Professional Development opportunities are provided. Occasional travel within NE Ohio may be required, and mileage is reimbursed. Member Duties : The VISTA Leader @ FCS will facilitate recruitment and on-boarding of VISTA members; Provide ongoing guidance and support to VISTA members, including professional development and networking opportunities; Coordinate communications for the FCS VISTA Program in a variety of media; Assess and create efficient systems for site/project management, record keeping, reporting, event planning, and program management assessment; Organize National Service Days and events.
