Summary

The Fatherhood Coordinator develops and implements strategies to recruit, engage and meet the needs of fathers with young children in Cuyahoga County. The Fatherhood Coordinator partners with Parent Support program staff to deliver parenting and child development services and helps to integrate fathers into existing services by providing relevant information, support and resources. The Fatherhood Coordinator helps to develop fatherhood resources and partnerships with father-serving organizations in the community.

Experience Requirements (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities)

Requires:

1. Minimum level of two years of related work experience within a social service, education or healthcare setting. Prior experience working with fathers, families and children preferred.

2. Experience facilitating groups, classes, and/or workshops preferred

3. Basic skill level in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. word processing and electronic spreadsheets), email applications, presentation software, and internet usage. Intermediate skill level preferred.

4. Ability to adhere to standards of confidentiality and professional boundaries.

5. Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.

6. Ability to establish and maintain a record-keeping system and office procedures.

7. Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills. Must be self-motivated, proactive and solution focused.

8. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to express self effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing.

9. Ability to tactfully and effectively deal with public and staff in a personable and professional manner.

10. Ability to work in culturally diverse communities and display cultural sensitivity and competence with others.

11. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with general direction.

12. High degree of initiative and independent judgment.

Education/License Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in health, education, social services, or related field.

Valid Ohio Driver’s License and appropriate insurance coverage.
