Amador Health Center is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred) to provide quality primary health care to patients at our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Our target population includes adults, children and families who are experiencing homelessness or who are very low-income, as well as agricultural workers and the LGBTQ+ community. We prefer someone with a minimum of three years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Our ideal candidate will be a collaborative partner committed to our mission and working with us to improve our quality care and patient health outcomes.
Major Activities and End Results
1. Provide patient care to adults and children at the clinic and on outreach with the mobile unit.
2. Assist with the supervision and direction of MA and RN staff in coordination with the CMO.
3. Assist the clinical team with compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other clinical health and safety regulations.
4. Be active in multi-disciplinary teams, including outreach, QI, and patient health education.
5. Support the CMO as needed to ensure the clinic is operating as efficiently as possible.
6. Able to mentor junior providers or interns if needed.
7. Assist the Quality Improvement team with developing Quality Improvement projects. Report to CMO on issues regarding quality care for patients including behavioral health and dental care.
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
- Minimum Qualifications: Experience working with under-served populations and providing primary care in a medical/clinical setting.
- Desired Qualifications: Bi-lingual in Spanish/English, with experience working with under-served populations with chronic health issues and co-morbidities. Multi-year hands-on experience as an NP.
- Ability to recognize and address health issues in agricultural workers and people who are experiencing homelessness.
Education, Credentials, Licenses
Certified Nurse Practitioner, NM Board of Pharmacy Controlled Substance, and DEA.
Other Requirements: State-issued driver’s license, criminal background check, and pre-employment drug test, COVID-19 vaccination, flu shot (or approved waiver).
