Women Against Abuse (WAA), is looking for an experienced individual to join the team as a Family Case Manager for our Emergency Housing Safe Havens!


WAA, a 501(c)3 nonprofit agency, is Philadelphia’s leading domestic violence advocate and service provider and among the largest domestic violence agencies in the country. The mission of WAA is to provides quality, compassionate and nonjudgmental services in a manner that fosters self-respect and independence in persons experiencing intimate partner violence and to lead the struggle to end domestic violence through advocacy and community education. With over 170 staff, WAA serves over 7,000 individuals each year within residential services (2 - 100 bed safe havens and 15 transitional housing apartments), legal services, hotline counseling, aftercare community-based services, prevention & education, and advocacy.

Responsibilities:
Provide trauma informed case management support to residents and/or their children. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Providing individual case management, advocacy, needs assessment, action planning and evaluation according to established professional guidelines and norms. Accompany residents and/or their children to outside appointments as necessary for support and advocacy. Develop, implement, coordinate and facilitate group meetings which address personal and emotional needs of children, residents and former residents. Provide ongoing individual support and informal counseling and makes outside referrals when appropriate. Identify new resources, develop informational materials and networks with community resources on women’s health, housing resources, financial literacy, domestic violence, parenting, children’s health and others as needed for use by survivors of domestic violence. Provide direct service links to external resources necessary to establish safe and more permanent housing and support, and assist in maintaining a welcoming, safe, and supportive community environment. All responsibilities are implemented according to our mission and values and according to Agency standards.

Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor’s Degree in social services or related field with some experience in direct service and/or advocacy is required; experience in a residential setting is strongly preferred.
2. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population is required.
3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member is required.
4. Demonstrated proficiency in communication, both verbal and in writing, is required.
5. Some experience in working on domestic violence issues is strongly preferred.
6. Proficiency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
7. Prior Case Management experience preferred.
8. Demonstrated skill in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, group facilitation and counseling is strongly preferred.


Employment offer and continued employment are contingent upon:

Satisfactory clearances (PA Child Abuse, Criminal and FBI-all related fees will be paid by WAA)

Completion of DV Advocate training (provided by WAA)


Current Openings:

Full Time (40 hrs) Monday-Friday 9a-5p
Pay Rate: $18.949/hr and a generous and comprehensive benefits package (medical, vision, dental, Paid time off & more).
