Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician I (Kensington Campus)

Location: Kensington Campus

Schedule: Sun 8am-4:30pm/ M-Thurs 12pm-8:30pm

SUMMARY

The Facilities Maintenance worker is responsible for the day-to-day cleaning and maintenance of The People Concern Kensington Campus. This position will ensure that The People Concern operates a clean, safe, and well-maintained facilities that meet industry and funding source standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Responsible for general cleaning of the facilities which includes sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, washing windows, cleaning and stocking restrooms, emptying trash, etc.

2. Assist with the completion of all minor repairs and facility rehabilitation, including interior and exterior facility grounds, buildings and equipment.

3. Implement a schedule of regular evaluation and preventative maintenance/repair tasks of the facilities ensuring the safety of the buildings from fire, flood, and other hazards

4. Maintain inventory of supplies and tools

5. Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing of offices, restrooms, dining areas, dorms and common areas.

6. Assist with set-up and clean-up of major events and with the pick-up, loading, and unloading of supplies and donations

7. Communicate regularly with all members of the team, to ensure effective two- way communication concerning maintenance issues

8. Implement policies and procedures that affect the use of supplies, equipment, and maintenance

QUALIFICATIONS

1. One to three years’ experience as a Facilities Maintenance worker in a commercial building, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

3. Effective interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community

4. Self-starter with the ability to stay ahead of the curve and thrive in a fast-paced work environment

5. Working knowledge of workplace safety and illness and injury prevention practices

6. Able to read, speak, and understand directions in English

7. Able to maintain a pleasant attitude and a customer-service orientation at all times

8. Bilingual Spanish preferred

Work Environment

§ Primarily indoor office environment

§ On occasion drive to different sites

§ Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds

§ May necessitate working in busy and loud environments

§ May be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise, and odor

§ May need to bend, stoop, twist, and sit throughout the day
