The Facilities Technician will maintain and repair equipment, buildings, and physical grounds throughout all Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana locations. Continuously focuses on quality, customer relations, and performance. Demonstrating behavior consistent with Goodwill Industries historic values, basic principles, and standards of conduct.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair facility and physical grounds at all Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana locations.
• Travel to off-site locations by company service vehicle to perform routine maintenance, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical, and furniture relocation.
• Completion of work orders using our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) inputting maintenance data and repair information.
• Operation of basic hand and machine tools adhering to all safety procedures.
• Communicate daily with Facilities management, customers, service contractors, and others to coordinate scheduling and repair activities.
• Dedication to customer satisfaction.
• Commitment to safety policies and best work practices.
• Perform outdoor grounds duties as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

• High school diploma required
• Prior grounds experience required
• Minimum of 2 years facilities maintenance or similar experience preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Possess the ability to work cohesively in a team environment
• Skilled at measuring, wall anchoring, drywall finishing, and installing hardware.
• Proven customer service skills
• Proficient in understanding and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Proficient in using a computer, tablet, and smartphone for a variety of applications and e-mail correspondence
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Adept at being proactive, self-directed, and a self starter; who takes initiative to find and solve problems
• Up-to-date automobile insurance, valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Must be able to pass the background check process
