Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service (OCES) Extension Educators are the "front door" to the University, providing a link between OSU and the people of the state in all 77 Oklahoma counties.
The OCES represents a federal, state, and county partnership working since 1914. The mission of OCES is to disseminate information to the people of Oklahoma and encourage the adoption of research-generated knowledge.
Extension Educators provide research-based information to clientele in the areas of agriculture, family and consumer sciences, 4-H youth development, and community and rural development.

Position Details: This position is located in the McIntosh County Extension Office, Eufala, OK. Position provides leadership to family and consumer sciences (FCS) and 4-H youth development programs in a dual assignment with approximately half of time spent in each program area.
Participates as a cohesive Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service (OCES) team member to involve local clientele and advisory groups to plan, implement, and evaluate the total county program.
Extension educators comply with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, etc., related to equal opportunity, civil rights, and affirmative action.
Extension educators are hired into the organization not into a specific geographic location. It is possible that future circumstances may require relocation.
Continuation of employment is based upon need, performance and available county funding.

Position Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's in Family & Consumer Sciences, public health, or similar health-related field
Note: All FCS educators must complete a FCS core competencies, either by 1) complete the modules and passing the quiz or 2) bypass the modules and pass the quiz with a score of 100.
For candidates without a degree in FCS, must be able to successfully obtain the noted certifications below within two years of employment: (certification expenses not covered by employer)
No FCS or Education Degree
- Take two approved education courses (Pedagogy & Classroom Management)
- Pass PPAT within two years
- Pass FCS OSAT within two years
No FCS Degree, but an Education Degree
- Pass FCS OSAT within two years
- Provide proof of passing PPAT
No FCS Degree, but Alternatively Certified in FCS and three years teaching
- No special requirements

- OSAT: Oklahoma Subject Area Test
- OPTE: Oklahoma Professional Teaching Examination
Extension educators hired with only a bachelor's degree are encouraged to work toward completion of an approved master's degree.
Valid Drivers License

- Demonstrated leadership ability in designing, promoting, presenting and evaluating educational programs and the desire to program to reach diverse audiences.
