Experienced, Mindful Live-in Nanny/Household Assistant Needed in Queen Anne

DETAILS:

Location: Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle, WA

Ideal Start Date: January/February 2023 (family willing to be flexible for right candidate)

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-6:00pm

Children: One 2.5 year old boy

Compensation: $27-$29/hr depending on experience and qualifications, with 40 guaranteed hours per week, overtime pay for any hours worked over 40 in a week, paid holidays, live-in accommodations with paid utilities and groceries, open kitchen, paid opportunity for travel, paid time off, mileage reimbursement for driving done on the job, a generous healthcare stipend, contract and legal pay with taxes withheld

The Family:

This easygoing, educated, travel-loving family is looking for a live-in nanny to join their household! They have had live-in care since their son was born. Both parents work outside of the home. Mom is a former journalist turned lawyer who is outgoing and enjoys the musical theatre and ballet. Dad is from England and works for Microsoft. He enjoys live arts performances, brain games, LEGO, and playing squash. They are a predictable family, stick to a good schedule, and are very organized. They have had good boundaries with their previous live-in nannies and very much respect the nanny’s space and time off. They have a good roster of neighborhood sitters for date night and weekend care.

Their son is friendly, adventuresome, and inquisitive. He loves learning, reading, and doing puzzles. He has a well-developed vocabulary and strong verbal ability. He is potty trained, a good sleeper, and a great napper. He gets very engaged in play, but is easygoing, and adaptable. He won’t have any siblings in the future so he looks forward to his nanny planning fun play dates with his friends. He’ll be starting part-time preschool in the Spring so nanny’s job responsibilities will shift slightly while maintaining a full-time schedule.

There are two cats in the home for any nannies with allergy considerations.

Travel:

Passport-ready is essential! The familyplans totake at least one international trip per year for two weeks or more. They would expect to pay a daily rate and negotiate the schedule. Daily travel pay encompasses each day of travel, including scheduled days off. The family also takes several domestic trips each year that may include the nanny.

Important- Travel is consent-based. There is also an opportunity for nanny to tack on a personal vacation before or after the family's trip.

The Job Description:

The nanny will be responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing and loving environment for their child.

Typical job duties will include:

• Engaging in emotional, physical, and intellectual development of the child
• Fostering an environment of learning and curiosity by facilitating age-appropriate developmental activities
• Planning and providing safe transportation to activities or outings
• Assisting child in learning to clean up after themselves
• Making the grocery list, ordering, and putting groceries away
• Child’s laundry
• Child snack and meal prep, and family dinner prep during the week
• Cooking and serving family dinner. The nanny is welcome to eat meals/dinner with the family
• Tidying of spaces used throughout the day

Nanny Accommodations:

The family lives in a three-story home, and the nanny accommodations are on the bottom floor of the home. It is around 300 sq ft, and is furnished with a queen size bed, TV, streaming services, mini fridge, toaster, silverware/dishes, and an en suite ¾ bathroom. There isn’t a private entry, but entry/exit is directly adjacent to their accommodations, and they can come and go without disrupting. The nanny will have a reserved off-street parking space.

Additionally, the nanny's groceries, electric, gas, internet, and sewer are all covered. They have full access to the kitchen and can come up to cook any time of the day with no restrictions.

Nanny Attributes/Qualifications/Requirements:

Their ideal nanny is intelligent, curious, and able to be a good role model by proactively bringing forth activities to support their son’s intellectual development. They would love someone who is warm, nurturing, outgoing, good with communication, easygoing, and able to engage at a very high level. They should have a calm approach to life and also be physically active and capable enough to navigate the many stairs in their home.

The nanny should be fully Covid vaccinated and boosted. They must have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and ideally their own safe and reliable vehicle for use on the job. They should also have a current CPR/First Aid Certification (or be willing to update asap).

Pay: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour
