The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. The Executive Director manages information gathering for the Cafe’s accounting firm, works to host groups of volunteers and Cafe visitors, supervises and mentors interns, coordinates gift acknowledgements, writes and reviews grant applications, builds social media and communications strategies, plans and executes events, and oversees all administrative aspects of the Cafe.

Basic Functions:

1. Responsible for leading in a manner that supports and guides the Cafe’s mission.

2. Communicates effectively with the Board and provides timely and accurate information necessary for the Board to function properly and make informed decisions.

3. Serves as the Cafe’s primary spokesperson to the organization’s constituents, the media, and the general public.

4. Responsible for fundraising and developing resources necessary to support FoCo Cafe’s mission.

5. Responsible for the fiscal management of the organization, ensures wise use of resources, and works to develop and operate within annual budgets.

6. Responsible for implementation of the Cafe’s programs that carry out the organization’s mission.

7. Responsible for the enhancement of FoCo Cafe’s image by being active and visible in the community and by building relationships with other professional, civic and private organizations and individuals.

8. Responsible for the effective administration of Cafe operations and serves as supervisor for Cafe staff while working collaboratively with them.

9. Responsible for signing agreements and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the organization.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

1. College degree in Social Work, Business Management, Nonprofit Management, or other related field preferred but not required.

2. Previous experience in a restaurant setting strongly preferred.

3. Previous experience in supervising others preferred.

4. Commitment to quality service to all Cafe guests.

5. Proficient in math/budgeting, grant writing, general marketing and community engagement skills.

6. Excellent writing and communication skills.

7. Awareness of local, state, and federal health and sanitation laws.

8. Ability to work in a unique environment with diverse guests, employees, and volunteers.

9. Displays leadership skills with the ability to work in teams as well as independently.

10. Committed to having excellent attendance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
