Job Description
This position is responsible for supporting the Vice President of Human Resources and Workforce Equity and HR Manger as the administrative assistant and in the administration/coordination the departments of Human Resources. The incumbent will serve as the purchasing representative for the division. Perform work of considerable difficulty and responsibility and requires management in a confidential, efficient, and organized manner. The incumbent uses independent decision-making skills and ensures that the Vice President of Human Resources and Workforce Equity / HR Manger’s areas of responsibility function in an organized and efficient manner.
This position is considered confidential as defined by M.S. 13.37 as the incumbent assists in the preparation and maintenance of confidential files containing collective bargaining contract negotiation and other labor relations proposals and counter proposals, strategies, costing information, and other labor relations documents and information. This position assists the Vice President and other senior administrators in the creation of a strike plan. This position attends confidential labor and bargaining union meetings as the official meeting minute recorder as necessary.
Under limited supervision, the incumbent will be providing clerical duties and ensure that the front reception area is staffed at all times. Have access to all communication, mail, and documents maintained for the Vice President of Human Resources and Workforce Equity and HR Manager. Attend investigatory, grievance and bargaining union meetings as the note taker. Ensure that data requests from external entities are responded and completed in timely manner. Work with designated internal and external parties on litigation.
This position may be eligible for partial telework per the Minneapolis College’s Telework Guidelines.

Required Qualifications
- Demonstrates an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency. Incorporates culturally responsive practices, and actively engages in antiracism professional development learning opportunities
- Experience in senior level executive support sufficient to represent the Vice President in various situations in a confident and effective manner
- Ability to maintain a professional decorum reflective of a team approach to college
- Understand and execute oral and written directions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, MS Publisher in order to maintain complex record systems
- Ability to understand and practice confidentiality procedures under federal and state regulations.

Salary Range:
$19.87 – $26.89 / hourly; $41,488 – $56,146 / annually
Placement within the salary range for the Office and Administrative Specialist Senior position is determined on the basis of relevant experience and in accordance with the 2021 – 2023 Commissioner’s Plan.
