Events Director

The Old Globe seeks a full-time Events Director with a proven track record of superb customer service, complex event management and execution, and successful donor relations management. With a budget of nearly $35 million, the Tony Award-winning Old Globe, located in San Diego’s beautiful Balboa Park, is a recognized leader among American regional theatres. Known for producing a broad range of work from Shakespeare and the classical repertoire to world premiere musicals and plays, the Globe annually produces 15 productions, including a “Globe for All” touring program that performs in community venues throughout San Diego County.

The Events Director is responsible for 50-100 events annually, including developing, managing, and executing donor recognition and cultivation events, the annual Globe Gala, the annual Founders Dinner, and events for other departments. In addition, the Events Director oversees the Lipinsky Family Suite, a lounge for donors open for all subscription performances, and supervises an Events Assistant and the Suite and events staff.

We seek a motivated and organized events planned who is professional and donor-centered and provides the highest level of customer service to Globe patrons and donors. The successful candidate will have outstanding verbal and written communication, budgeting, planning, and scheduling skills. The selected individual must be experienced in event planning and execution, preferably for a large not-for-profit organization. Excellent skills in Microsoft Word and Excel are required. Full-time position with benefits including 401(k).

Annual salary range is $70,000 - $80,000, commensurate with experience. Full-time position with benefits including 401(k).
