Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Event Manager, the Event Supervisor patrols and secures assigned premises as well as oversee Event Security and Event Staff at assigned location. Event Supervisor work is available year-round on an as needed basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assign tasks to applicable line level staff and direct work throughout the event
- Conduct on-the-job training through development and improvement of standard operating procedures, which may include orientation to the post, review of orders, routine responsibilities and how to respond to emergency situations or specific client needs
- Confer with necessary security team through frequent radio communication
- Provide exceptional customer service to the client and all guests attending the event. This includes providing general information for the event venue and giving directions to local points of interest (parking, bathrooms, medical stations, vendor locations, restaurants, etc.)
- Identify issues occurring at events and forward to Event Manager. May be responsible for writing a report of the situation or assisting with an investigation as directed
- Thoroughly examine doors, windows and gates to evaluate proper function and security
- Monitor and address persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards
- Protect valuable assets for a business or vendor
- Be mentally engaged in the event through observing the conditions or incidents and report incidents/conditions to the appropriate management staff
- Stand in one place for long periods of time while maintaining mental focus and presenting positive body language
- Properly handle all Company equipment, including radios, computer equipment, flashlight, uniforms, etc.
- Perform Event Staff or Event Security job duties on an as-needed basis
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of one-year previous experience in customer service, security or related field
- Ability to perform job tasks in a professional manner in a customer service driven industry
- Attention to detail with a constant awareness of surroundings
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written; reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
- Adaptability – Responds effectively to changes in situation or information
- Ability to pass a background check
- Comply with company dress code for events and arrive prior to the event start time ready and prepared to work
Physical and Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, it is required to frequently sit, stand, walk, talk or hear. They are required to stand or walk for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours). On occasion, they may be required to climb and work in high places, stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. Position may also require work in confined spaces and exposure to different types of outdoor weather conditions.
Must occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
