Telecommunications Estimator (Job ID: 2774)
Purpose:
- Atlantic CommTech, a Valkyrie Enterprises company, has an immediate need for a Telecommunications Estimator who will be a key support to bidding, estimating and design projects that fall within the capabilities of the Telecommunication Division.
Job Description:
- Produce client proposals & scope of work, estimating labor and materials.
- Creates Bill of Materials (BOMs).
- Review and diagnose client telecommunications drawing packages.
- Problem solving and solution-oriented thinking.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders throughout project bid and installation phases.
- Attend or schedule project meetings, site surveys, or walk-throughs in preparation for proposal work.
- Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Work under immediate supervision and typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Qualifications:
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent and at least 4 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry or Associate's Degree in related field.
- Must have working experience in telecommunications estimates including estimating materials, labor and ODCs.
- Must have the ability to work in a demanding, deadline-driven environment, be detailed orientated, and able to multitask.
- Must be a US citizen.
Desired Qualifications:
- Prefer at least 2 years of experience working on telecommunications estimates including estimating materials, labor and ODCs.
- Prefer RCDD experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) as well as MS Visio and AutoCAD.
- Technical writing ability for proposal and Installation Design Plans.
- Demonstrated experience with United States Government telecommunications installation requirements is a plus.
- Possess an above average knowledge of ANSI/TIA standards and NEC codes as related to the telecommunications industry.
- Continuing education and earning certifications in the telecommunications industry is desirable.
Security Clearance:
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- Prefer an Active DoD Secret clearance.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel up to 20%
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
- Subject to outside environmental conditions (cold/heat), subject to noise, vibration, close quarters and/or function in narrow aisles or passageways.
