Job Responsibilities

• Perform neat, orderly takeoff with little to no supervision or direction
• Effectively and articulately communicate work product to the lead estimator in charge
• Interact with subcontractors and vendors as needed
• Create complete and fully functional excel spreadsheets and word documents
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management
• Actively work with subcontractors/vendor to ensure that accurate and complete quotes are received
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management

Core Competencies

• Strong team player with a positive attitude
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) & other relative computer programs
• Able to use estimating tools such as scales and calculators
• Basic knowledge of estimating fundamentals
• Able to perform area, footage, volume calculations and have the knowledge to do unit conversions
• Able to think on your feet in high pressure situations
• Highly organized with attention to detail
• Follow instructions, respond to management direction
• Be familiar with basic construction means & methods
• Maintain a positive image of the company with vendors, subs, clients, and teammates
• Excellent time management skills

Supervisory Responsibility

This position is not responsible for the oversight of other teammates

Work Environment/Physical Demands

• This role requires the ability to work in a professional office environment
• Business casual attire required
• Adhere to Methuen s safety policies & procedures

Position Type

This is a full-time, non-exempt position

Travel

Travel is occasionally required for pre-bid meetings or site visits to jobsites located primarily in the Northeast

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ year field experience in the construction industry
• Able to fluently read & understand construction project documents including, but not limited to, drawings, specifications and addenda
