Job Title – Environmental Field Scientist
Department – Forensic Americas
Reports To – District Manager
Employment/FLSA Status – Full-time/Exempt
Overview
The staff environmental scientist conducts assessments and investigations of environmental impacts of properties caused by fire, water, and chemicals.
Essential Job Functions
- Customer service.
- Conduct field investigations, including the collection of various types of environmental samples.
- Assess environmental conditions
- Produce written reports.
Required Education and Certifications
- Associates Degree in science related field; or,
- Environmental assessment certification/license (Asbestos, Lead, Mold).
Required Skills and Abilities
- Experience collecting environmental samples (air, water, soil, surfaces).
- Strong understanding of lead, asbestos, and mold in the Environmental Industry.
- Proficient using MS Word and Outlook.
- History managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Background or interest in science.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Individuals must be self-motivated.
Physical Demands and Travel Requirements
Physical Demands- Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The position requires the ability to speak, write, and communicate clearly.
Employee may lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Travel Requirements – Travel requirements up to 50%.
The Salary Range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 and is dependent on education, experience, location and certifications/licensure.
