POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Assistant
POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Reporting to the Human Resources Supervisor, The Human Resources Assistant contributes to the administration and day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: The Human Resources Assistant will work closely with all employees, as well as supervisors, ranch managers, and customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The essential functions listed below are not intended to reflect all duties that may be assigned to this position. Allan Brothers may augment duties, including essential functions, at its discretion.) Screen job applicants, explain company employment policies, and electronically complete additional hiring processes. Also, will complete I-9, W-4 and other hiring paperwork. Schedule interviews for the HR team as needed. Maintain databases with employee information file and maintain filing systems and organize and maintain up-to-date personnel and employment records. Assist with the management of employee incentive programs and administration of employee training programs. Uploading files for all recruitment Answering Phone Calls Taking Messages Filing as needed Assist with H2A preparation Maintain referral logs Completing employment verification when needed Additional job duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY: Work well under pressure Manage multiple projects at a time Communicate with excellent ability - both written and verbal Bilingual (English and Spanish, written and verbal) required Must be a team player and maintain a positive, professional attitude Have strong computer skills Be detail oriented & organized Be willing to work flexible hours and weekends Office experience required
EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION/LICENSES, AND TRAINING: High School diploma or GED equivalency required. 2-year degree in business or HR preferred. Experience working in an office environment preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The Human Resources Assistant will primarily work in an office environment with exposure to Orchard Operations. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, especially during peak season. This includes overtime, weekends, and some holidays. Frequently works in an office with some exposure to orchard environments. Frequently works day shift with some overtime required (Cherry Season, evenings, holidays, and weekends). Frequently works under tight time constraints or with business activities of a seasonal/cyclical nature. Physical requirements of the job: Frequently lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements: Constantly uses near vision, far vision, and depth perception and frequently uses color vision. Constantly types, talks, sits, and listens/uses hearing. Occasionally stands and/or walks, climbs, lifts, crouches, pulls, kneels, reaches, pushes, stoops, grasps, crawls, and/or drives. Frequently uses repetitive hand motions. Types of exposures encountered: Occasionally has exposures to odors or fumes or loud machine/equipment noise.
