Entry-Level Geo-structural Engineer
Power Engineers is seeking a highly motivated, Entry-Level Geo-structural Engineer for full-time employment in our Geosciences Department.
Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities
This geo-structural engineer must be proficient in interpersonal communication skills that would allow the individual to work with other experienced engineers in a team environment.
We are looking for an individual with knowledge/interest in subsurface investigations, shallow and deep foundation design for drilled piers, micro piles, driven piles, helical piles, and vibratory caissons.
Additionally, this geo-structural engineer should have the knowledge, familiarity, or understanding of groundwater flow mechanics, artesian flow, slope stability evaluation and mitigation, settlement evaluation, and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate would be comfortable working in remote areas in small teams and navigating using GPS-based tools.

- Construction Drawing Development
- Construction Support
- Field Visits
- Continual Technical Growth
- Written and Verbal Coordination
- Both with internal colleagues and client representatives
Required Education/Experience
- BSCE, BSGE, or MSCE (with a geotechnical emphasis) from an accredited college or university. Candidates without geotechnical emphasis will also be considered if they have a good understanding of the engineering properties of soils.
- EIT certification and eligibility to sit for the PE exam within four (4) years of employment.
Desired Education/Experience
- Strong background in computer modeling that may include EXCEL, SMARTSHEET, LPILE, SHAFT, MFAD, TFAD, SLOPE/W, Finite Element Modeling, GRLWEAP, SIGMA, RISA, STAAD and MATHCAD.
- Working knowledge of GIS and AutoCAD
