AECOM is actively seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Chemist to be based in our Raleigh, NC office. This position will support our Remediation group within our Environment business line._This position is expected to begin in September/October 2022._

Please note this is an office position and would not involve laboratory analysis. The project Chemist will support quality assurance/quality control, data management, data analysis, and various analytical chemistry aspects of environmental investigations for our clients. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects via our Chemistry Center of Excellence while developing their technical skills and exploring new interests as a Chemist.
_Job responsibilities include, but may not be limited to: _
+ Coordinate with laboratories throughout the sampling process
+ Provide defensible scientific support for critical project decisions
+ Review and validate chemical data packages in accordance with EPA guidance to ensure compliance with published analytical methods and usability of environmental data
+ Upload laboratory analytical data to specific client and regulatory databases
+ Manage data in relational database systems like Earthsoft EQuIS and/or Microsoft Access
+ Manipulate electronic data deliverables to create report-ready tables and visualizations
+ Develop new data management workflows and automated tools
+ Perform statistical analysis of chemical data to support forensic fingerprinting, remediation decisions, and environmental fate and transport studies
+ Prepare technical memoranda and white papers to be included in client deliverables
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or other related discipline
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience using statistical software packages and/or programming languages such as R and python
+ Experience performing chemical analysis in an academic or commercial setting
+ Knowledge of environmental chemistry principles (i.e., environmental fate and transport)
+ Knowledge of analytical chemistry principles (i.e., quality assurance and quality control)
+ Experience using relational databases such as Microsoft Access
+ Microsoft Excel skills
+ Relevant technical writing skills
+ Ability to organize data in an efficient and clear manner
+ Strong attention to detail
+ Experience using statistical software packages and/or programming languages such as R and python
