Davis & Elkins College, a private college in the liberal arts tradition, invites applications for a full-time position in English. A Ph.D. in English, Literature, Rhetoric & Composition, or a related field is preferred, but ABDs will be considered.
The successful candidate will be a Generalist in English who is able to offer a wide variety of introductory and upper-level courses according to the candidate’s interests and the needs of the department. The applicant will join a department of four full-time faculty firmly committed to providing high-quality undergraduate teaching and mentoring. Experience in teaching, mentoring, and service is preferred. Rank and salary are dependent upon qualifications and experience. The position is renewable upon satisfactory performance. Davis & Elkins College is an affiliate of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and covenant partner with the Presbytery of West Virginia.

- Successful teaching in a variety of courses.

- Maintaining an ongoing presence on campus.
- Participating in recruitment and retention efforts.
