Purpose:
Lead assigned Capital Investment projects and/or proposals within Automotive Engineering, ensuring that CPP stages 2 to 7 are managed in such a way that requirements agreed with the SBU are met with respect to E, H&S, quality, time, cost and risk objectives.
This is a global position with possibility to lead capital investment projects potentially in any NSG Automotive Plant but with more focus on Projects being implemented within the OE/AGR NA SBUs. The role also supports the OE/AGR NA SBU Management team to identify and assess possible investment opportunities in the Region.

Essential Functions:
- Co-ordination of the preparation of project’s deliverables definition, estimates and planning to meet the requirements of the project through approval stages of CPP;
- Overall responsibility for the safe delivery of assigned Engineering Projects to agreed time, cost and quality criteria;
- In association with other relevant AE team members and Plant E, H&S representatives, plan and manage all environmental, health and safety issues relating to the project definition and implementation to improve on Auto Engineering safety performance targets and meet project environmental targets;
- Ensure that the project is planned to an appropriate level of detail to meet the project time objective and that targets and progresses are monitored and communicated;
- Ensure that the project costs are tracked, monitored and controlled to an appropriate level of detail to meet the project cost and spending objectives;
- Facilitate co-ordination with MA Procurement to ensure that procurement activities achieve the requirements of the project;
- Manage engineering risks, ensuring that they are identified and minimized through risk assessment techniques;
- Ensure the project status and progress are communicated, and issues escalated, to the OPM and the Steering Committee as appropriate.
Other Duties
- Act as the CPP Contact point for the OE/AGR SBU NA Management team to identify and assess Capital Investment opportunities in the Region.
Scope/Dimensions:
- Managed projects can range from few tens to some USD millions;
- Projects implementation timeframe can vary in between 3 to 18 months;
- Interaction is normally with Plant Managers or Plant Manager’s direct reports level for projects’ implementation tasks, while is also with Regional Operation and/or Finance director level or above for reporting project progresses and/or results, depending on the specific project’s profile.

Qualifications Required:
- The ideal candidates should have 5 years minimum project management experience. It would be desirable if they had experience of managing the whole project life cycle (feasibility, design, specification, procurement, installation & commissioning) with a proven and documented track record of successfully completed projects;
- Technical/Scientific Degree (BS/MS in an Engineering field is preferred);
- Fluency in any languages other than English is an advantage;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Open and frank, keen to see things through to completion;
- Dynamic individual who leads by example;
- Flexible, understands there is more than one way to accomplish a goal;
- Must be able to work as part of a team and have the determination to succeed in a challenging environment;
- Must be a self-starter and be able to work towards project objectives with minimal supervision;
Qualifications Desired:
- PMI PMP® or equivalent;
- MBA (or demonstrated equivalent level of knowledge acquired “on the job”) is an advantage
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to travel, with overnight stays if required;
- Must be available to supervise installations, if needed.
