Summary for the Engineering Manager - Aluminum Boat Manufacturer - Missouri

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading and developing the engineering and research and development team, including directing, coordinating, and exercising authority of planning, organization, leadership, and completion of engineering projects. The Engineering Manager will coordinate programs and activities to achieve timely resolution to manufacturing problems and new process launches.

Responsibilities for the Engineering Manager - Aluminum Boat Manufacturer - Missouri

  • Serve as the engineering leader and technical expert.
  • Develop a team culture of ownership, teamwork, and empathy that reinforces our core values.
  • Develop Proof of Concepts and prototypes.
  • Develop standards and structure for workshops, trainings, and projects.
  • Create detailed high quality engineering plans, processes, and procedures for staff to use and abide by.
  • Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for engineering projects.
  • Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff.
  • Build and manage the reliability program within applicable regulatory and corporate guidelines.
  • Conduct various quality assurance checks to verify the quality of completed projects.
  • Build and mentor individuals on the team to high standards of quality, pride and excellence while supporting individual professional development plans.
  • Establish and deliver engineering strategy for the growth of the facility.
  • Evaluate third-party products and specifications.
  • Spearhead various research and development initiatives to identify opportunities for new projects and improvement processes.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontract designs
  • Align engineering priorities with those of operations, sales, marketing, and supply chain.

  • Minimum of a bachelor's in engineering or design.
  • 6+ years of engineering experience, ideally in a management role.
