Job description
Provides prompt, efficient and professional emergency care and transport within the EMT-Bs scope of training. Provides basic transports, which may be emergency, or non-emergency, including inter-facility transports. Provides support to paramedic patient care regarding drug and equipment location.Education
High school diploma or equivalency. Completion of an accredited EMT program. Due to frequent regulatory/certification/accreditation changes, continued education through seminars and workshops may be required. Continued education must comply with the state requirements to maintain a valid certification.
Licensure/Certification
Must have current certification as an Emergency Medical Technician in the State of Indiana. Must maintain current certification in BLS Healthcare CPR. Must provide copies of licensure/certification for personnel records including renewals.
Experience
Experience is preferred. Job-specific training is provided through a preceptorship program of a minimum of 80 hours, or longer at the discretion of the EMS Director.
