Responsibilities

Provides the highest quality patient care through consistent application of hospital policies and procedures while maintaining patient safety, confidentiality and privacy.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Completion of technician education in specific area and specialty e.g. EMT-Basic, EMT-Paramedic, CNA or LNA or PCT (patient care technician).
  • Completion of Basic EKG class and demonstration of competency in EKG rhythm identification within six months of hire OR previous EKG rhythm identification experience and demonstration of competency within 90 days of hire.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider.
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows.
  • Successful completion of the following within 90 days of hire, with the exception of hires who are certified paramedics within the past three years: - YRMC IV Course - IV insertion competency checklist for adults - Six (6) successful adult IV insertions performed under the supervision of an RN
