Job description

  • Receives direction and assignments from physicians and RN to help provide technical support to optimize and provide exceptional patient care within scope of care.
  • Responsible for reporting on the condition (or changes in condition) of patient/client to the appropriate supervisor and other staff members.
  • Coordinate and assist with care as directed.
  • Responsible to assist with hourly rounding and documenting in chart, updating communication boards , and providing bedside shift report at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Cleans and stocks carts, rooms, and changes linen, as required
  • Assists with department inventory, wound care, positioning patients, application of orthopedic splints and dressings.
  • Assists with transport of patients to other departments.
  • Assist with resuscitation / CPR and emergency airway procedures.
  • Assist with obtaining and documentation of vital signs and placement of oxygen saturation, cardiac monitoring, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring systems.
  • Assist with other technical functions such as: obtaining 12-lead EKGs, IV starts, blood draws, discontinuation of peripheral IV and heparin/saline locks, maintenance and care of specimens for laboratory analysis, and Point of Care Testing.
  • Decontaminates all equipment, instruments, and supplies.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation
  • Responsible for performing tasks that are within the scope of his/her practice as an EMT.

  • Completion of a state EMT certification training program through NREMT.
  • Must be IV Certified upon hire.
  • Minimum of one year relevant experience preferred.
  • BLS certification required upon hire
