POSITION SUMMARY


Assists in the deep cleaning of guest rooms by moving furniture and cleaning specific areas.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • General cleans guest rooms by moving furniture and cleaning areas such as edging carpets, washing inside windows, checking drapes, scrubbing bathroom floors, inspecting with a black-light, changing shower curtains, vacuuming
  • Rotates mattresses on a quarterly basis
  • Runs daily room status report
  • Charts all daily activities on progress chart

  • Supportive Functions

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

  • Assists in other areas assigned by manager such as lobby attendant, houseperson, supply person and/or runner due to changes in weather, occupancy, scheduling
  • Interacts with guests by providing hotel information, instructions, and directions
  • Reports any safety concerns to manager

  • Other Duties
  • Assimilate into the Embassy Suites culture through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements of CARE. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Hilton from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs of the hotel.

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly in English with guests and staff as is necessary to effectively work within the department
  • Ability to grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to move throughout building, bend, stop and reach on a continuous basis up to an 8-hour shift

EDUCATION
High school graduate or equivalent preferred

EXPERIENCE
6 months to 1 year cleaning experience in housekeeping or janitorial services preferred

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.
