Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus two years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree.
  • Demonstrated resume experience that includes:
  • Strong technical troubleshooting ability
  • Health Information Technology or working in a Healthcare setting
  • HIPAA regulations/requirements
  • Providing software support for end-users


Preferred Qualifications:

  • OCHIN EPIC, EPIC and/or Dentrix support experience
  • Experience supporting an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in a primary care, ambulatory health care, or community health setting.
  • Project management experience, preferably in implementing process or technology changes in a healthcare organization.
  • Customer service knowledge and skills, including experience teaming with stakeholders
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Process improvement skills

Objective/Overview:
CUHCC’s mission is to transform care and education to advance health equity. CUHCC serves over 10,000 patients a year through ~60,000 annual patient visits. The patient population comes from over 12 different racial and ethnic groups that span five continents. We provide medical care, dental care, mental health care, legal, advocacy for domestic abuse and sexual assault, and much more—all in one place. CUHCC is a Federally Qualified Health Center and a department within the University of Minnesota Office of Academic Clinical Affairs with ~200 employees. CUHCC trains over 150 University learners annually.

The Electronic Health Record (EHR) Support Analyst is responsible for providing comprehensive EHR (Medical and Dental) support, including continuous end-user training at CUHCC. The EHR serves as CUHCC’s primary contact for clinical application vendors (OCHIN, Dentrix, CareMessage) and is responsible for monitoring and communicating all application upgrades, enhancements and changes to end-users. This critical position partners with the Clinical and Revenue Cycle EHR Support Analysts, the Quality and Compliance teams, the Clinical Directors, and the Senior Leadership Team. This position is also responsible for collaboratively teaming with the University of Minnesota’s Office of Information Technology to support end-users at CUHCC.

Reporting Relationships:

The EHR Support Analyst reports to the Report Developer.

Essential Functions and Percentage for Each Function:

Electronic Health Record User Support (50%)

  • Provide training and support for end-users, starting at on-boarding for new employees
  • Support end-users in their daily work with a goal of improving user experience and efficiency
  • Partner with the Office of Information Technology to support end-users, including troubleshooting issues as needed
  • Collaborate with clinical service providers and leadership to make decisions, solve problems and test system changes/upgrades.
  • Respond to end-user requests for technical support related to clinical applications, and escalate support issues to vendors as appropriate, including submitting and managing JIRA’s to OCHIN
  • Monitor SuperUser chat in Zoom and internal ticketing system to triage issues as needed
  • Participate in designing workflow and deployment projects
  • Promote and implement unused /underutilized functionality of the EHR to increase efficiencies in clinic and operations flow


Health Information Technology (HIT) Project Management (25)%

  • Initiate, manage, and execute HIT projects to achieve different quality and performance measurement initiatives
  • Represent HIT as subject matter expert (SME) in various CUHCC projects
  • Lead clinical and operational teams in the planning and execution of all HIT projects


Electronic Health Record Application Support (20%)

  • Maintains CUHCC’s Provider Master File (PMF), partnering with the Compliance & On-boarding teams on timely communication and updates
  • Monitor and communicate monthly and quarterly EMR updates, including regularly using Continuum to anticipate and proactively address changes to CUHCC end-users and workflows
  • Serve as a liaison between CUHCC and application vendors to maintain a functional work environment that supports end-users
  • Attend EHR Support Analyst Monthly OCHIN workgroup meeting and other vendor meetings as assigned


Other Responsibilities as Assigned (5%)

Working hours: Monday-Friday, ~8am-4:30pm
Working arrangement: Hybrid position, which is subject to change in the future based on business needs.
