Electrical Service Technician

Position Summary
The Electrical Service Technician travels throughout the state of Florida and from site to site to service, troubleshoot, and repair Commercial, and Industrial Electrical systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Tracks, communicates, and reports all field work in timely manner
- Report writing, data analysis, and work order activity documenting
- Reads drawing sets and project test results to prepare for system re-inspection, if necessary
- Works closely with customers pre and post installation to ensure installation, performance and functionality of system meets their standards.
- Prioritizes work requests and self-schedule
- Performs required preventive maintenance activities on Commercial, and industrial Electrical systems to maintain warranty coverage
- Installs and maintains monitoring systems
- Tests electrical systems of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as thermal cameras, multimeters, megohmeters etc, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Inspects systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
- Troubleshoots and repairs HVAC Units (CU’s, AHU’s EF’s etc), Disconnects, Fuses and building systems (Lighting and Power)
- Generates material and scope for recommended actions
- Ensures the vehicle, tooling, electronics, software, and company property issued are accounted for and taken care of
- Attends training courses
- Acts as a team player in the ongoing development and improvement of the Service team
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Education
- High school degree or equivalent
- Trade schooling preferred
Experience
- 4+ years’ experience in the Electrical industry
- 4+ years’ experience of Electrical System installation, operations & maintenance (O&M),
- Experience in the solar service and/or maintenance industry is a plus
- Panelboard and Disconnect installation experience (Preferred)
- Experience with document management software
- OSHA 30 for Construction Certificate (Preferred)
- Formal training certificate or degree in electrical field (Preferred)
- Trade experience in electrical, general construction (Preferred) Solar experience is a plus
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to see the big picture, anticipate problems and how they will affect the project team, and proactively address these issues
- Valid Driver’s license and ability to regularly travel throughout the state and to other states and regions for a few days or occasionally a few weeks at a time
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, lift 100 pounds, and must be able to work on your feet for long periods of time
- Must be able to work outdoors in extreme environments
- Proficient computer and tablet skills especially use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other common office software
