As an Electrical Engineer on the ConMet eMobility team, you will be responsible the creation, development, selection and release of High and Low voltage systems and their associated components, including controllers, power management systems, harnesses and cables. Activities include technology research, testing, prototype production, supplier coordination and technical specification management within the NPI / e-Mobility team. The role works with an integrated, cross-functional team responsible for making innovative eMobility solutions for the automotive market.

This role requires working in an office environment (not hybrid or remote) at ConMet's corporate headquarters in Vancouver, Washington. Non-local candidates must be open to relocation (relocation assistance available).

Key Duties

  • Responsible for electrical vehicle Low and High Voltage systems development
  • Design of vehicle harness, cables, power distribution modules and power converters
  • Data collection and analysis to support system performance testing and controls tuning
  • Research and evaluate of new technologies
  • Interact and coordinate with suppliers, purchasing and engineering to align designs and select components
  • Utilize Matlab / Simulink for analysis and simulation work
  • Develop DFMEA and DVP for new products
  • Utilize PCAN, Kvaser, and other CAN tools for design and analysis

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. Electrical Engineering required, equivalent degrees with experience will be considered
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience developing electric vehicle or similar electromechanical systems required
  • Minimum three (3) years of engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Automotive or Commercial Vehicle experience preferred
  • Electric Vehicle High Voltage Safety Training preferred
  • ISO 26262 training preferred
