Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Location: Lemont Furnace, PA (Uniontown area)

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for performing tasks as directed which includes the following but is not limited to these tasks:

  • Involved with the design, development, modification and analysis of various electronics systems
  • May include Hardware, Power Engineering, Power Electronic Engineering, Electromagnetic Engineering, Integrated Circuit Engineering, Components or others
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in existing products or systems and makes modifications as needed
  • Compile and evaluate design and test data
  • Analyze, develop and recommend design approaches
  • Support and participate in technical activity
  • Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems
  • May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments
  • Ability to work independently under supervision of others
  • Provide regular reporting of progress and status
  • Responsible for completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements
  • Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services
  • Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
  • Develop prototypes to retire key development risks as directed
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
  • May participate in preparation of less complex proposals
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer, or business meetings

Qualifications

  • Novice technical expertise and application domain knowledge
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Related technical field

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE, BSEET, or BSEMET)
  • Novice technical expertise and application domain knowledge
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain the appropriate level of government issued security clearance and/or access
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Understanding of basic electronic component data sheet information (capacitors, transistors, resistors, connector, etc.)
  • Experience with basic test and measurement equipment (power supplies, DVMs, oscilloscopes, function generators, etc.)

Additional Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Coursework involving analytical models of electrical circuits / systems using SPICE tools (OrCAD, Saber, EAGLE, LTspice, KiCAD, etc.)
  • Basic software programming skills with either high or low level languages
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Previous experience using MRP tools such as Deltek Costpoint is a plus
  • Previous experience with version control and defect tracking systems is a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting up to 20 lbs. up to 25% of time
  • Walking up to 25% of time
  • Climbing, Bending, Standing, Stooping up to 10% of time
  • Sitting up to 75% of time
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10% of time to locations in the continental United States

AAC works on a 9/80 compressed schedule, with employees working 80 hours in 2 weeks and every other Friday off.
