Job Description/Responsibilities

Buffalo Trace Distillery is looking for a Controls Technician to join the team in Frankfort, KY. This is a night shift position.

The primary duties are (but not limited to):

• Perform all plant electrical responsibilities including installation and maintenance of PLC & MCC

• Ensure that PLCs, robots, and any additional automation is functioning as expected

• Read and interpret electrical diagrams

• Have the capability to install, troubleshoot and maintain conduit wire, motors and electrical equipment on 240-volt, 3 phase and 440-volt systems

• Ability to install variable speed drives and troubleshoot electronic control systems including electric eyes and relays

• Ability to program A.B. programmable logic controls.

• Install, examine, troubleshoot, repair, adjust, clean and maintain machinery, equipment, fixtures, piping and plumbing systems, etc.

• Read blueprints, manuals, drawings, computer screens, sketches and/or oral instructions

Qualifications/Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in industrial automation
• A record of successful maintenance experience with a mastery of skills needed to perform everyday maintenance tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing facility
• Hands-on experience with electrical, PLC programming and hardware, and equipment troubleshooting
• Ability/Willingness to worksecond or third shift
• Successful candidates will be required to receive acceptable scores on several tests including mechanical and electrical aptitude exams, pre-employment physical, and drug/alcohol screening
• Must demonstrate a high level of initiative and problem solving abilities
• Detail-oriented and demonstrated ability to perform work with high degree of accuracy
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and ladder logic
• Ability to operate industrial equipment.

• Excellent safety and attendance records
• High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance or Journeyman Electrician
• Manufacturing systems experience
• Rockwell Automation Controls training
• Allen Bradley PLC programming experience
