Educational Specialist - Family Child Care
Job description
Who We Are: Early Head Start and Family Child Care services is a single program that offers full-day home-based childcare services, family support services and advocacy to low-income families with children under four years of age. The program provides developmentally appropriate home-based child-care, and home visits to families and family childcare providers.
The Educational Specialist provides coaching support to family childcare providers in areas of curriculum implementation, classroom management, child development, etc.

Who You Are:
- Passionate about childhood education field, coaching and have knowledge or experience working in adult learning
- You have a BA in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
- You have 1+ years of experience in early childhood education child development birth to three years old
- You have strong writing and communication skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
What You Will Be Doing:
- Implementing appropriate curriculum in home-based Family Child Care programs
- Providing enhanced home visits to Family Child Care Providers serving Early Head Start children
- Providing on-site training to Family Child Care Providers addressing all areas of child development and education and for them to complete developmental assessments.
- Updating and maintaining child observations in Teaching Strategies Gold
- Assisting in the recruitment of families for the program, childcare providers with technical support, and during the Parent Council meetings and other parent workshops
- Maintaining proper documentation on visits and families and children
Information You Should Know:
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9AM-5PM
Position Type: Hybrid role, 3 remote days and 2 onsite days. Requires travel to different provider homes. (Flexibility is required)
