Studio classes, tours, gallery workshops, exhibitions, interactives, and public programs help inspire visitors of all ages, means, backgrounds, and abilities to engage with WAM’s collection. Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, 32 hours/week

Reports To: Manager of Public and Education Programs

Direct Reports: None

Pay Rate: $18.64 - $20.50 / hour

Purpose: To plan, promote, and coordinate youth tours and programs; develop and evaluate audiences for programs; maintain records of attendance.

Vaccine Policy at WAM:

In an effort to keep everyone safe, we will require proof of full vaccination and booster as a condition of employment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedule and implement Gallery Studio Workshop programs in collaboration with the Tour Programs Coordinator.
  • Schedule and implement Artful Play and Head Start programs for the Museum’s youngest visitors in collaboration with the Manager of Public and Education Programs
  • Develop and evaluate audiences for programs
  • Prepare materials and track use of supplies and instructor hours for Gallery Studio Workshops, Artful Play, and Head Start programs
  • Communicate with faculty instructors and assistants for Education programs
  • Maintain records of attendance and demographics for applicable programs
  • Assist with Arms and Armor school and youth programming
  • Assist with online tour and outreach requests and scheduling
  • Answer inquiries from the public, members, volunteers, and staff pertaining to programs, classes, and events
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of best practices for early childhood education
  • Embraces and promotes diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion initiatives
  • Previous experience leading programs for young children
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of staff and the public with courtesy and tact
  • Knowledge of office systems, including processing credit cards, batching, telephone protocol, and clerical duties
  • Past experience with Altru database helpful.
  • Ability to coordinate simultaneous projects amidst a busy work environment
  • Availability to work flexible schedule, including weekends

EDUCATION:

Associates degree preferred or equivalent experience. Education in early child development; some knowledge of art or art education

EXPERIENCE:

Two years of experience working in a museum or classroom environment
