Echo Technician

Hampden & Franklin County Cardiovascular Associates is a growing cardiology group serving Western Massachusetts with locations in Springfield, Holyoke, Northampton, Westfield and Greenfield. We have over 90+ employees working over the different locations. Our practice is affiliated with Baystate and Cooley Dickinson Hospital. We are looking for an echocardiograph technician who is flexible and dependable and is willing work independently and travel to our different sites.

Job Description:

• Perform cardiac ultrasound evaluating heart function, chamber size, valvular function and blood flow.
• Perform complete echocardiographic exam using 2D imaging, Color flow Doppler, Pulse wave Doppler, Continuous wave Doppler and M-mode according to the established laboratory protocol.
• Review patient information, history and previous echo exams.
• Understand clinical indications for test and perform exams with accordance to the pathology.
• Must have basic knowledge of cardiac condition and be able to recognize and identify heart abnormalities.
• Develop strong time management and organizational skills.
• Work collaboratively with physicians and medical staff but perform complete echocardiographic examination independently.
• Prepare a preliminary report with accurate measures and appropriate statements.
• Accurately complete billing and charges using EMR - ECW (eClinical Works).

Qualifications:

• Minimum Associates degree or 2 year equivalent (equal or related)
• BS or BA preferred
• Certification: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
• CPR certified
