PRIMARY PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY
Has primary responsibility for the appropriateness of the environment, the correctness and completeness of assessments, screenings, and children’s records. Fulfills all duties and responsibilities as caregiver for children assigned to the Teacher’s primary care as specified for Early Head Start Program activities. Supervises and implements all activities in the Early Head Start environment. Screens children using the designated screening tests. Plans, evaluates, and individualizes designated curriculum. Works with the Early Head Start Coordinator to facilitate the smooth operation of the Early Head Start Program. Shares responsibility for the professional development of staff supervised. Collaborates with parents and other community resources to address identified needs. Performs related duties as needed or assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of CDA Credential (Infants/Toddlers) or Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or 2 years course work from an accredited college with at least 2 years experience in a preschool center, preferably Head Start.
OR
CDA credential or candidate for CDA Credential with at least 4 years experience working in a preschool center, preferably Head Start.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Valid South Carolina Driver’s License with acceptable driving record required; CDL required.
EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES
Personal computer.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Classroom environment.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Must have ability to communicate with a variety of people, work independently, and maintain strict confidentiality of program data. Must be cooperative and display a positive attitude towards working as a team with other staff members. Must exercise discretion and sound judgment in the performance of assigned duties.
This position assumes a team relationship with other program components and the performance of any other related duties.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $36,480.00 per year
