MSA supports the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in developing leading-edge technologies to counter WMD in support of CCMDs and transitioning these technologies to services and SOCOM. Our team provides expertise across the full range of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and high-yield explosives (CBRNE) WMD, Counter Improvised Threat and Countering Threat Network technologies to support understanding, detection, identification, characterization, denial, control, disabling, defeating, disposing, safeguarding the force, managing consequences, and test and evaluation in support of military and civilian operations.

Duties:

Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on projects by providing research and development (R&D) analysis to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency Research and Development Chemical Biological Department with emphasis on support to the Joint Technology Advancement Team (JTAT) by: acting as an integrator and advisor between Science and Technology Managers, DoD scientists and engineers, and Warfighters; informing design of, operational coordination of, and advisement of Warfighter engagement events; facilitating analysis of early technologies for operational considerations (form, fit, function, CONOPS/CONEMPS, etc); and attending relevant enterprise and technical meetings, reviews, conferences, and the like in order to stay informed of current and ongoing work and maintain an informed perspective of developments across the organization and enterprise. Support collaboration with other Chemical Biological Divisions to guide and inform the identification and validation of technologies to ensure they are relevant to the Warfighter and the enterprise, account for and not duplicative of (to the best of their knowledge) other ongoing work within and external to the enterprise, and within the scope of the organization and enterprise mission.

Required Skills

  • Dod operational experience with chembio technologies to include decontamination strategies and medical/pharmaceutical capabilities.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field
  • Ability to break down complex unstructured problems, lay out objective approaches, and develop solutions
  • 5-10 years of relevant professional experience
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical subjects to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook)
  • Active DoD Secret clearance

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Biological Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience assessing developing/pre-fielded technologies
  • Chemical Biological Defense Program experience
  • Experience with materiel development and DoD acquisition process
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance

Pay: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
