Primary Function of Job:
Coordination of longhole drill and blast activities
Major Responsibilities and Duties of Job Holder:
Safety, Health & Environment:
Promote and demonstrate safe behavior at all times.
- Demonstrate effective performance in achieving agreed SHEC goals in support of the department, site and company standards.
- Demonstrates leadership in SHEC through personal behaviors and conversations, and ensuring that the Geology team report all SHEC incidents and participate in SHEC initiatives.
- Take responsibility for the safety of all personnel, including yourself, at Nyrstar Tennessee Mines.
Function/ Production:
- QAQC of drill and blast designs
- Recommending optimization potential of drill and blast designs
- Coordinating sign off from key stakeholders
- Coordinating drill & blast schedules in consultation with planning engineers
- Contract managing drilling contractor(s) including
- In field verification that execution matches plans
- Escalation of any deviations to plan
- Stopping work when quality exceeds contracted thresholds
- Coordinating post drilling QAQC (hole surveys, drill hole counts, stope prepping)
- Reconciling invoices & attending end of month contractor meetings
- Travel- 10% of the time-Domestic or Regional Only
