AboutThis Opportunity

We are seeking a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) Specialist II

The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) Specialist II enables values-driven focus to support employees on Cascade’s DEIA journey, which is vital to our success. This role is accountable for defining, improving, implementing, and standardizing our general DEIA programs and processes, engaging employees on DEIA topics, coordinating DEIA-related events and telling the story around our initiatives. The DEIA Specialist II may also be involved in supporting DEIA and DBE outreach and activities across our program delivery contracts. This role will collaborate with the internal DEIA committee to find avenues of support for employee education, involvement, and engagement while providing reporting, analytics, and communications on the execution of program objectives. This role requires high attention to detail, critical thinking, exceptional customer care, heightened awareness of organizational impact and the ability to manage multiple priorities and lead projects. At the heart of this role is the ability to connect, hear what isn’t being said, and the compassion to find a successful, inclusive path.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Foster knowledge and adoption of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility topics and best practices across the organization through communication and training programs
    • Maintain DEIA communications site and intranet resources
    • Provide regular Leadership Team and companywide communications
    • Curate or create training program design, content, and administration related to DEIA
  • Ownership of DEIA-related metrics across the company, including ongoing support and ownership of diversity reporting on behalf of our Talent Acquisition and Human Resources teams. This includes:
    • Creating and maintaining reports on recruiting pipeline, interview and hiring statistics and trends
    • Tracking and reporting on companywide diversity metrics
    • Assist with EEO/AAP data collection and reporting
    • Employee engagement surveying and trend analysis
    • DBE tracking and reporting
  • Develop and administer programs that promote employee and vendor diversity across the organization. This includes:
    • Managing employee referral program
    • Performing outreach activities with organizations that help drive diversity in hiring
    • Coordination and management of internal employee resource groups
    • Conducting research and outreach on diverse vendors and subcontractors
    • Oversight and coordination of diversity-internship programs
  • Implement current DEIA learning and development roadmap across the organization for comprehensive DEIA training and growth at all levels of the organization and explore options to improve based on employee feedback and engagement with the learning opportunities
  • Manage DEIA content on public-facing websites and reporting and assist with DEIA-related content in RFP responses and reports
  • Lead and facilitate ongoing operations of the DEIA committee:
    • Team meeting organization and facilitation
    • Special projects and assignments stemming from DEIA team discussions and issue processing
    • Communicate with and hold teams and individuals accountable for tasks or contributions to companywide DEIA goals or initiatives
  • Provide support, facilitation, and action to customer-facing teams around diversity initiatives in our program delivery to increase participation of DBE customers in energy programs and to ensure that our program delivery performs consistent with Cascade and customer DEIA goals and objectives
  • Attend DEIA-related trainings and workshops to bring best practices, opportunities, and ideas back to relevant teams as well as the organization at large both for internal DEIA as well as DEIA outreach for our customer-facing programs

This is a full-time, non-exempt position located in Portland OR. We are also open to non-Portland candidates with a willingness to travel occasionally to Portland.

Minimal travel is anticipated for this role.

Qualifications

Applicants for this role are required to have:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Diversity Specialist or an HR Generalist with relevant diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience with people analytics and reporting
  • Demonstrated experience with group facilitation and coordination

A successful candidate should also demonstrate these preferred characteristics and/or skills:

  • 2-4 years of direct DEIA program administration experience

Compensation & Benefits

Our total rewards include competitive pay and excellent benefits. These include health (90% paid for team member, 80% paid for dependents on HDHP plans and 85% paid for team member, 75% paid for dependents on PPO plans), vision, FSA or HSA options with an employer contribution, life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, paid parental leave, 401k retirement plan with a guaranteed 3% contribution, Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP), annual cash performance bonus, paid vacation, sick time, and an inclusive, flexible paid holiday policy.

The salary range for this position in Portland OR is $68,200 - $83,400/year. However, final salary offered may vary depending on non-discriminatory factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experiences, and geographical location if different than the above.
