The YMCA of South Florida is now hiring a District Membership Sales Director. The District Membership Sales Director is responsible for the development, analysis, and implementation of the Downtown YMCA and South Dade YMCA Family Center's ongoing membership strategies and activities both internal and external. The position provides direction, measurement and accountability to membership sales and unit growth. Responsibilities include achieving sales targets by creating measurable systems, prospect follow up, booking appointments, giving tours and actively selling memberships according to the Y's guidelines and protocols. This position will implement and support the Association in the development of training manuals, guidelines, and sales protocols in the areas of membership sales and acquisition. Director will supervise the Membership Sales Advisors for designated family centers.
Essential Functions:
- Meet / Exceed annual budgeted targets and goals for new member acquisition and overall unit growth.
- Develop membership acquisition and engagement plans to ensure achievement of organizations goals. (Annual, Quarterly, Monthly)
- Track and report productivity including prospect work, membership inquiries (by telephone and in person), appointments for tours and closing ratios. Submit monthly business review report as required.
- Manages lead database to ensure accurate and timely entry of all leads for designated centers and team members. Accountable for Key Performance Indicators (KPI) in pursuit of sales goal achievement. Coaches and holds team accountable for lead management and KPIs.
- Hires, Trains, Coaches and holds accountable Membership Sales Advisors and membership team for KPIs and goals
- Creates and adheres to the monthly sales coverage schedule and ensuring coverage meets the traffic pattern needs of the center to drive conversion and new unit sales.
- Personally sells memberships and drives traffic. Makes 30-50 outbound calls per day to prospective members to drive lead generation, appointments and KPIs. Responsible for setting outbound prospecting call target for the team.
- Monitors membership analytics to include trend analysis and assure corrective action plans are in place to avert any downward trends.
- Ensures engagement and retention by connecting new members with program areas and setting new member onboarding appointments with healthy living.
- Creates a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
- Stays informed of the latest industry trends and developments (digital and social media, trade magazines, journals, competition).
- Identifies community opportunities for brand awareness, exposure and prospecting.
- Develops and strengthens YMCA corporate accounts by working within the local community or corporations, businesses and organizations to position the YMCA as the expert in health/wellness resulting in increased sales.
- Ensures that the prospective member experience is based on hospitality, by establishing systems and monitoring adherence to membership policies, procedures, standards and best practices.
- Routinely solicits feedback from staff on potential markets and ideas for future promotions/campaigns. Assist in the creative packaging of programs/events to ensure effective promotion.
- Works in tandem with the marketing department to coordinate local advertising.
- Upholds all Association policies, guidelines and protocols and be a professional at all times when interacting with staff, volunteers, members, business professionals and community leaders.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree, or experience in related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of customer service or sales experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience and proven experience in leading a team and staff supervision
- Ability to address difficult member situations / conflicts in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
- Ability to multi task and meet deadlines in a fast pace environment.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Must have good interpersonal, public relations and communications skills, including the ability to make oral presentations
- Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations
- Bi-lingual, English and Spanish language, a plus.
Certificates and Licenses:
- CPR/First Aid and AED certified within 90 days of employment
As a condition of employment, you will be required to submit to and satisfactorily clear a thorough Level II fingerprinting background screening.
