Position Summary
The Utility Worker is responsible for various cleanliness functions essential to the operations of the restaurant. Duties may include dish washing, restocking product, trash disposal, and other cleaning responsibilities as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Dish Washing
§ Clean and returns dishes including flatware, utensils, trays, storage containers and/or other items back into service in a timely manner, following Luby’s standards and policies.
§ Maintain dish machine throughout the shift including proper operation, water quality, soap and rinse additives.
2. Cleanliness and Sanitation
§ Follow standardized cleaning, safety, and sanitation procedures. Practices the “clean-as-you-go” philosophy.
§ Responsible for the general order and cleanliness of the kitchen, dining room, and storeroom. This may include sweeping and/or mopping.
§ May be responsible for outdoor landscaping assistance.
§ Keep floor dry at all times and free of debris. Takes out trash as needed.
§ Follow departmental closing procedures.
§ Perform daily cleaning assignment(s).
§ Perform laundry duties as needed.
3. Organization
§ Maintain organization throughout the shift in work area.
§ Store all items in their designated labeled areas and eliminates clutter.
§ Keep all towel and soap dispensers clean and stocked throughout shift if necessary.
§ Follows proper procedures when putting away deliveries, labeling and dating of product, and breaking down boxes.
4. Teamwork
· Assist other team members when necessary.
· Assist management in any way conducive to the efficient operation of the cafeteria.
5. Communication
§ Effectively communicate quality issues, mechanical issues, and supply issues to management in a timely manner.
§ Effectively communicates to manager a need for assistance when necessary.
§ Frequently checks schedule and checks out with a manager before leaving.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
