The Little Sisters of the Poor at St. Mary's Home on the North Side of Chicago are seeking a cheerful, strong, and dependable employee to serve as a Dishwasher in their Home for the elderly poor.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience in a healthcare dietary department (hospital or nursing home) is preferred;
• Steady work history with good attendance;
• Must be willing to work variable hours including weekends and holidays;
• Must be in good health and able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs;
• The ability to work individually as well as part of a team;
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check, physical exam, and drug test.

JOB DUTIES:

• Responsible for preparation of dishes, utensils, pots and pans for washing;
• Responsible for conferring with supervisor of inventory needs;
• Responsible for checking and maintaining high standards of sanitation, safety, proper storage and handling in accordance with Health Department, State, and Federal codes;
• Responsible for maintaining a clean neat environment;
• Responsible for reporting any irregularity or defects of equipment to the supervisor;
• Strive for optimal use of supplies, materials; keeping in mind cost and budget limitations;
• Work effectively and cooperatively as a team member within Department and with all departments or other disciplines;
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
