As a core member of the Global Supply Chain Management team, the Director Supply Chain Management Americas will be responsible for the development and implementation of the overall strategic direction and initiatives of the Americas related supply chain functions. This role will be the lead architect for implementing and transforming the supply chain process within Americas.

This position serves as the company’s expert on industry trends and changes in laws and regulations affecting logistics and distribution services. The Director SCM Americas will execute supply chain program that delivers product at the lowest net landed costs and ensures high service and reduced lead times.

This position reports to the Vice President Global Supply Chain Management. The Director SCM Americas leads a team of regional Americas SCM employees in logistics, distribution, and SCM systems.

This position will be located in the Americas region.


Core area of responsibility

  • Lead, coordinate, and track all Americas Supply Chain Management activities in the organization to achieve greater efficiency
  • Strategic planning, directing, and leading materials management, distribution/logistics, and inventory management functions to support a service-focused, cost-effective, centralized, and standardized model
  • Implement innovative programs to increase supplier diversity
  • Streamline all logistics processes, identifying opportunities for outsourcing where appropriate
  • Drive improvement in inventory availability, increasing inventory efficiency and ensuring that the company makes efficient supply chain decisions
  • Maintain a strong relationship with third party logistics and distribution providers
  • Lead and manage a team of geographically dispersed employees within the Americas region

Core technical skills

  • Experience managing operations of a business with high complexity in a global matrix, multi-site organization
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with international logistics
  • Deep understanding of how to optimize supply chain functions and implement innovative approaches
  • Experience in conducting complex negotiations with supplier executives
  • Experience in process analysis and applying best supply chain process practices
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
  • Track record of driving operational excellence, implementing significant improvements resulting in cost reductions

Educational / professional qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field required; Masters degree a plus
  • Track record of working in global organizations with more than 20 years of work experience as a global leader (focus on the Americas region) in SCM who has demonstrated successful leadership
  • English business fluency necessary

Position requires up to 50% of travel to our manufacturing sites to meet with project teams, external partners and customers.
